DAILY WORD 7/31/20
15. And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says,
16. “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
17. Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”
18. And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.
Hebrews 10:15–18 NLT
Today’s passage is yet another slim slice of succulence that segments the “Strong Meat” of the Word so that one does not strangle themselves on its Superior Strength.
It continues on with the thought the author is offering about the Superiority and Efficacy of the Sacrifice Jesus made on behalf of us for the Forgiveness and Erasure of our many iniquities and transgressions by the shedding of His Blood.
He makes the point that it is not only Jesus Himself that makes comment on the subject in the Word but the Spirit of God, Whom He left us as our Comforter in times of need who has weighed in as well.
Now, in my understanding through God’s Revelatory Communication and through the discernment of His Word, I have come to believe that God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit are all One being separated into different Offices for man’s benefit.
Whereas a man can be both a father and a son at the same time and he possesses a spirit as well, God is no less capable of Encompassing all three Offices at once, and despite the perplexity that this may cause the feeble minds of His Creations, it is still the most accurate Nature of His Being.
Therefore, when the Bible says that God, The Father, Jesus, or even the Holy Spirit says a thing, in my understanding, it is all coming from the same Being.
That being said, the Covenant that is referred to in Verse 16 is God’s way of interacting with us in a way that otherwise would have been impossible prior to His Birth, Death, and Resurrection.
The whole point of Jesus coming to die was so that we as human beings could have an Advocate with The Father and a Comforter dwelling in our hearts. The Power of God in His “Original Form” was so Potent that we could not even interact with Him without the very real threat of death.
He Became one of His own Creations as Jesus, to Be the Sacrifice for us all, in order to Pay the Price for the erasure of our sins, and to offer us a Portion of Himself to Dwell in us, so that we could Overcome through the Comforting Power of His Might.
When His Spirit comes to Live in our hearts not only does it Transform us into new creatures in His sight, as it states in Verse 16, He will put His “laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
God, once He Forgives us of our sins will never again Remember them, and if that is the case, as the author states in the final Verse of this passage, “when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.”
God’s Foresight is so Vast and Sweeping that He Knew both what we would need before we needed it and that He Prepared the Perfect Sacrifice for all of man’s transgressions before we could ask for it!
If this is the Great High Priest that God has Provided us to Act as the Advocate between us and Him, and if His Spirit is the Comforter that we have been Given to help us through this life, then I really can’t see how we need anything more, can you?
