8. But to the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice.

9. You love justice and hate evil. Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.”

Hebrews 1:8–9 NLT

Today’s passage is a brief couple of Verses but I chose to carve the two of them out to make a point that I have often glossed over in these DAILY WORD commentaries for the sake of peaceful discourse.

There has long been a gulf between many Spirit-Filled Believers when it comes to Biblical Doctrine, especially when it comes to “the Trinity”, a term which, by the way, is never found in the Gospels or anywhere else in the Bible for that matter.

The discussions and unfortunately the arguments over this point have led to fissures between otherwise aligned individuals that have, in turn, led to the establishment of opposing organizations within Christiandom.

The Unity that we should be displaying has been fractured by a misunderstanding and vicious fights have resulted, making the gulf even deeper. I believe this Scripture goes a long way toward clearing up a portion of the Doctrine causing the rift.

Verse 8 mentions God speaking to Jesus. A lot of Christians give individual status to each Person of the Godhead but if that is the case, why, in this Verse, would God call Jesus God?

I don’t pretend to understand the intricacies of God’s Being nor the conundrum of the Jesus being God thing, however, if a man can be a Father and a Son while at the same time having a Spirit, why can’t God be Father, Son, and Spirit all at once without us getting confused and angry at His Ability to Display His Power however He Decides to?

In the Book of St. John 10:25–30, Jesus clearly states this point in no uncertain terms, and the religious leaders of the day who were confronting Him took offense to His assertions. As a matter of fact, they sought to stone Him to death! Apparently, people still have issues with what Jesus Himself said that day out of His own mouth.

Again, I don’t understand the ins and outs of His Being both the Son and the Father and then being the Bridge between us and His Unknowable and Unapproachable Self as the Spirit all at the same time. But if God is indeed Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent, then Being 3 Beings at once isn’t really much of a stretch, to be honest.

God became Jesus to make Himself both Relatable to us as finite human beings and to Become the Perfect Lamb of Sacrifice for all the sins of the world. We couldn’t touch Him as God and we couldn’t Relate to Him without the conduit of an Intercessor. That is what the Spirit became and Jesus made Him Relatable.

A conundrum to be sure, but much like many other portions of God’s Revelatory Word, if you seek the Answer, when the time is right for Him to do so, He will always give you the Revelation. You just have to ask and be open to the Answer when it comes.

Alright, look, I’m never looking to offend people with these commentaries but sometimes you just have to Speak Truth and let God Do the Rest. Deut 6:4 and Mark 12: 29 tell us, again from God’s own Mouth all we really need to know about His Oneness.

If this differs from what you believe and it is offensive to you, I apologize, however, if you ask God for His Revelatory Wisdom and search His Word. Your Answer will be on the way…guaranteed!

Have a Miraculous Monday and Please, Stay Safe out there!
