1. God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

4. Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Hebrews 1:1–4 KJV

Today I begin something new. I have been focusing on a lot of Old Testament books and subjects of late and offering refreshing and rejuvenating milk to any readers that have been following along. Now, with this commentary on the Book of Hebrews, it is time for a little bit of meat.

I recently taught a Bible study that included parts of this Book and it has been the focus of recent messages I’ve heard as well and it has sparked my renewed interest in it.

As I go through this Book I will be exposing some of the Revelations God Provides to myself as well as to you so hold on as we delve into this deeper end of the proverbial pool.

The author begins by giving us a brief explanation of how God used to Communicate with mankind. He then quickly moves on to indicate that the Form of His Communications has changed drastically.

Where once God’s Word was only Communicated through the proxy of Priests and Prophets, now He Speaks through Jesus. This form of God’s Presence Possesses All the Power, Glory and Majesty of the Creator yet is Relatable to us through His Decision to be Born into the Being of His Own Creation.

This is a Game-Changer! Not only is Jesus the Creator of the World and Powerful beyond our Comprehension but through His Love, Grace, and Mercy, He became the Sacrifice for all of our sins as well.

Jesus, upon Completing His Mission here on Earth, Returned to Heaven to Reclaim His Position of Glory there and Established His Preeminence Above all Powers, including, His Messengers, the Angels.

His Word, His Name, and His very Presence hold a Power and a Sway that cannot be rivaled by any other being in all of Creation. Yet, this same All-Powerful God made Himself Accessible to us in ways that we often take for granted today but that are so Important and Impactful that they should never be underestimated or overlooked!

Jesus Changed the Game when He Sacrificed His Life for us and from that time on nothing would ever be the same again! As we continue on through this Book this Principal will resurface time and again.

However, I think it is one of the most important things we can understand about God and His Relationship with us. He didn’t have to do it but He did. He Stepped Down from His Ultimate Thrown of Power to Die for us and all that just to be more Relatable, to Give us Access to Him Directly Through His Spirit.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. That’s a lesson for another day. Until then…

Have a Phenomenal Friday and Stay Safe out there!
