4. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Psalm 1:4 KJV

Today’s Passage transitions from what we have to do to Receive God’s Blessings and what we can expect once we do to what the other side of the coin looks like.

So, obviously, as with all things in life, there are two sides to every story. Not everyone will or even wants to submit to God, even if it will net them Blessings beyond their wildest dreams.

They deem their self-will more important than Eternal life with God. Earlier in this Chapter, the author tells us to steer clear of individuals who do not “fear” God. Here’s why. Today’s Verse says that ungodly individuals resemble chaff.

Who cares? What is chaff anyway? Well, in short, it’s farm or yard waste. Back in the day before garbage service was a thing when this was written, chaff was burned. That’s all it was good for, to blow away in the wind.

Stark imagery, to be sure, but there’s more. Another definition of chaff is to joke. Chaff is a joke. Wow. I didn’t write thi,s but I can only assume that this is not happenstance. God does everything He does with Intentionality.

If you’re not motivated by God’s Blessings, how about not being a joke that’s only good to be burnt and blown away in the wind? Listen, I hope this doesn’t offend anyone, but if it does, these aren’t my words, so parse out your hate appropriately.

In the meantime, if you care, consider where you sit on this scale of the Godly and ungodly. Are you receiving Blessings, or are you about to get blown away? Sobering thought considering the time in which we live.

Have a Fantastic Friday And Do Not Be Chaff!
