DAILY WORD 10/20/20

3. They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth.
4. Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks.
5. For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:3–5 NLT
Today’s passage completes the thought Paul was penning to Timothy about the changes that would occur in the Church in the last days, when false teaching would arise, as seducing spirits influenced Christian Leaders with doctrines derived of devils. Yesterday we covered the lies and hypocrisy they would foster. Today we cover what those lies may be.
Paul mentions that these doctrines would include forbidding marriage and that may have been an issue in the days that he wrote it but it’s interesting to me that marriage comes up as an issue in this Passage considering what the Church is battling against today.
The issue these days is not the prohibition of marriage, it is the unions between individuals God never intended to be united. These statements promise to be unpopular with many potential readers but regardless of your position, the Word is clear on this. From the Book of Genesis, to Romans 1:26–27, 1 Corinthians 6:9, to even 1 Timothy 1:10, the Word makes it clear what God thinks of these unions.
However, today, even in the Church we are seeing Pastors and Bishops acquiescing to the whims of today’s society and okaying these unions in their organizations and churches. Here’s the thing; though societal norms may change God never does and His Wrath will be poured out on any Christian Leader that bows to the desires of the mainstream over His own Word.
Paul then goes on to mention preaching against certain foods being eaten. This particular warning does not seem to have a specific parallel in today’s Church but anything that is taught today that is against what God intends for His people is fundamentally wrong. Period.
This is exactly why it is so vitally important to Know the Word for yourself because if you do not and someone comes preaching another doctrine other than the Truth, how will you even know? We have a Responsibility to Study to Show ourselves Approved unto God which is both our Reasonable Service and the only way to be sure of the Guidance that is being offered to us.
If we do not Study, any word that comes from a supposed leader will be accepted simply because it comes from a source that we trust even when it is actually untrustworthy. Not all pastors and preachers are delivering a Word from the Lord or even from the Bible. Today’s society does not want to be told that what they want to do is wrong.
Therefore, those in Leadership Positions today often say whatever the people want to hear to ensure that their monetary well-being is not threatened, instead of ensuring that the well-being of the souls of their followers is not threatened. This conduct will be Judged harshly, as God will Condemn the actions of His Leaders more severely than those that obey those false teachings.
Paul, in his instructions to the Christian Leadership at Ephesus, ensures that Timothy is prepared to deal with this eventuality before it happens and that we today are prepared to Know and Understand the Word so that we do not fall into similar pitfalls.
The enemy will do whatever it takes to destroy God’s people and he is not averse to delivering a low blow when he sees the opportunity. That includes influencing Christian Leaders to lie from behind the pulpit. Knowing the Truth is essential to knowing whether what you are being taught is true or not. Do not be deceived, stay in the Word.
Have a Terrific Tuesday and Stay Safe out there!
